Hi, I’m Anna Magdalena Patti, a 23-year-old Catholic transgender woman! I’m a philosopher by training, an artist at heart, a future mother by daydream, and an amateur theologian by strange necessity.

I’m a Byzantine-inclined charismatic Carmelite Catholic with a yoga-to-the-Jesus-Prayer kinda mystical bent. My patron saints include (but are not limited to): Mary Magdalene, Joan of Arc, Teresa of Avila, Antony of Egypt, the Archangel Raphael, and Dorothy Day.

I studied Philosophy and Film at the University of Notre Dame, with possible grad school to follow. (Also possible “screw academia cuz I want to be an itinerant artist/social worker.” Who knows.)

Sometimes I do things other than trans theology. If you want a slice of that cake, you can read narcissistic ramblings at Viola Caeli, watch my film reel and then hire me for your media project at Epiclesis Productionsor see my crappy collages at DeviantArt.

I love you all and I hope you enjoy my blog! Please stop by again!

  1. I cannot even imagine the difficult path God has given you to walk. I think your idea for this web page is just awesome. My Christ be with you and remain in your heart.

  2. I never realized just how close my own experience of Mama and Jesus and the Father mirrors the Carmelite expression.

I seriously make no effort to “be” anything, though I am actually going to join an ELCA Lutheran church, per Mama’s direction…I just seek God and seek to Love Them, for in truth without Them I would be long dead.

Thank you so much for stopping in at Grace Notes, and I am looking forward to knowing you…most likely in heaven.

    Charissa Grace
